Human No More?

I read recently that we're are still evolving as a species. It makes sense to me that we are, but I wonder just exactly what we're evolving into? Human of course, but what kind of human? I've heard different theories as to what it might be. These include everything from beings with higher developed brain function, to the absurd idea that we will become cosmic beings who eventually transcend space-time. It's also reasonable to assume the we might one day be able to control our own evolution through genetic engineering. If we do then what it means to be human will no longer be soo easy to define.

    Ok, no philosophy this time. I have a real physics question that's been bugging me for a while, and I can't seem to find any answers to help give me a clear understanding of the situation.     The idea of alternate dimensions, and the alien beings that might inhabit them isn't new to quantum theory.
