Default Proposal For Democratic Rule Clreation, Deletion and Editing

So I watched the video here a few times:
Github and the future of politics

and I thought ... this may be a great opportunity for this board to use github for the forum rules. We could create them democratically .... thoughts?

Democracy and open source won't work in the unprincipled, dishonest low integrity fudal system you have here.

I suggested a way of tracking the integrity of contributors to this board. You dismissed it with the full support of the lowest integrity posters on this board. Didn't tip you off that the most evasive posters opposed it. Can you immagine writing open source and battling every contribution through an unprincipled, dishonest low integrity fudal system?

No. The integrity of a piece of code and the contributor of that code is tracked so someone can dismiss code writen by a low integrity contributors and groups (networks) of contributors and can use and write for code written by high integrity contributors and networks of contributors.

How in your most feverish hallucinations do think you understand this system enough to apply it here under the childishly inept and negligent fudal system you use here?

Here is how it would work:

    1. have a public github repo where you lay out the board rules in some
    documents.

    2. anybody can fork it, edit it, etc.

    3. each user has one vote. one vote equals a vote for a specific
    commit on github, like.
the active part is the hash at the end --- 995d...

This way ANYONE can rewrite the rules of the board and if it wins the popular vote it will get put into place and we will follow the letter of the law.

If someone wants to write up some rules ... please put them into github and we can enter the current rules into github and then vote on it.

It seems you dont understand how github works ... please listen to that video. Basically anyone can rewrite part of all of the rules. Each month we will take a vote which github version is best and use that one.

    OK here is the github:
    https://github.com/tommac/SpaceTimeA...d-Regulations-

Feel free to make the changes as you wish. Monthly you can add your version to the voting of the month which will then be voted on by the members of the board.

This seems interesting. I have no experience with github.

My question is, are you suggesting this in place of something else? What about Moderation of those rules voted on?
Lastly, what about Member participation? This forum is operating very slowly, currently. I can easily see the necessity of it being a monthly thing...

edit: Also, how do you sign in to commit recommended changes?

Github takes a little getting used to ...
    https://help.github.com/ shows you how.

The rest of your questions really rely on the rules. Rules about the moderation can be added. The rules of the board can be modified through this process. So basically anyone can guide the rules of the board.

Member participation: How do the votes count? What if no one votes? You'd think that folks would vote on what will affect them but ahh...uhh... YEAH... doesn't really ever seem to work out that way. There's PSA's reminding people to vote. Few people actually vote.

I'm probably just being a worry wart. It does seem fair. And if you believe it will work, I cast a vote now- I'm willing to try it...
    Might be a unique experience.

If no one vote the old rules are in place ... also I would say that you need to win by like 2 votes to overturn. Just in case there is very low turnout.
