Well maybe someone was playing a trick on you. Like you do with others. 1x1+1=2 is correct whether you add or multiply first. But 2x3+5 is not the same if you add first. But that's one of your tricks. So what is to be done when we know someone is playing a trick? Be rude and point it out? Be PC so he can flood at will? Depend on mods who we both know have demonstrated too much ignorance and naivete to know your tricks?

Trick? It's normal to do multiplication before addition.

    2x3+5 = 5+2x3 = 11; you'd only do the addition first if brackets were involved, e.g. 2x(3+5) = 16

    What's the context of this?

Beyond that, the fun is your amusing way of seeing "tricks" everywhere. It saves you dealing with the content of posts, by instead discussing weird claims for the motivation behind the posts. Similar to your "artfull [sic] dodger" comments previously in this thread. Fun! It's not "rude" to point out actual "tricks", but it is "rude" to continually point them out as a way of dodging the real issues. (An amusing irony, using claims of "tricks" as a "trick" itself. Aha! You'll claim my post is a "trick" - so you can ignore it!)

That's you're neck of the woods, grapes! Just search on "political correctness"

    Bingo. My thoughts exactly.

Not to mention they had an ENTIRE THREAD on it a few years back, wherein Swift said, "I actual approve of a certain amount of political correctness." Alas, Antoniseb stepped in and said, "I've closed this thread, as it is discussing politics... in a meta-way."

In a "muddled way" would be more accurate.

No need to bow out, grapes, unless it's temporarily, to wipe some of that egg off your face.

Any other errands you like us to accomplish for you?

Not exactly "P.C. is great!" but I'll accept that you have found an instance where the term is not used as a pejorative. I guess you're going to have to change your sig, mugs.

No, I accept that "politically correct" is possibly not a pejorative.

That's all I was saying in my OP, that it was a pejorative.

You made a statement, and you backed it up:

Ok, Grapes. I think we've reached a tentative understanding.

So! Getting back to science, physics, and the understanding of the cosmos, where do we go from here? I have a ton of ideas, but I'd like to hear yours.

Even though you are a sock puppet that doesn't mean you are everywhere.

Grapes, being the notorious trickster he is, would have a sock puppet. Why is bananas the sock puppet? Well the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.

    Back on topic.

There has been a thread going on for several days at basmo* about how what they call "political correct" is corrupting scientific integrity there. Of course the participants are not using those terms so as to vainly avoid infractions.

There are also, of course, the usual henchmen baiting people into infractions demanding examples like grapes did here. Since examples are verbotten there they claim it isn't happening and if it isn't happening the whole discussion is pointless and even offensive. The thread is a fine example of their catch 22 thinking. They're so corrupt, I think they consider that flattering.

*basmo is used because a link to the site, or even the name, search engines will consider as adding "relevancy" to the site and cause it to appear higher in search results. I don't want that.
