What do you think if I created a forum here called:

    Member Cage Match

Where when two or more members get into a "heated debate" the original thread gets closed and a copy of the thread gets moved into the Member cage match are to battle it out ...

Does this seem like a reasonable idea?

There would be the chance that the thread would become like the 'banned posters' thread on BAUT
i.e. the most consistantly active thread and the one that people check out first when they log on to the site.
Not sure if that's a pro or con.

I guess the problem is that the thread has gotten to a point either where at least one party isnt listening to the other party OR that they disagree so much that there is no room for either to budge.

In either case there are a few options:
    1) close the thread
    2) suspend at least one of the parties
    3) leave the thread go ... probably at least one posters will have gotten pissed off by this point
    4) member cage match

Each to his or her own of course, but if I were to be involved in a dispute where the levels of personal antipathy suggested a "member cage match", then I would simply retire.

Its all fun and games until someone loses an eye. Then it's just fun.

How would you change it? I like it as it.

My oath of office never expires. "God, who gave us life, gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?" - Thomas Jefferson. "I have far too long suffered fools. No longer will I tolerate the insufferable. Enjoy the vacuum." - Mugs

PS: I scrambled my password, so no, I will not be responding. Get a clue.

I had a good following in BAUT and a lot of people asked questions about my ban. Thanks to them also.
I recall informing others the reasons you had relayed to me - was a long time ago, now and I don't remember what any of the reasons were.

But out of curiosity... Why would anyone ever want to appeal a ban?

Not so that you can be where you are not wanted. But to state that statements made about you are false.
