    Default Book Suggestions?

Any suggestions on reading material? I am always on the look out for books on physics of all types (intermediate to advanced.) Books on physics that are worth their weight in salt can be hard to find. They tend to either be exclusively math or just cute (Universe in a Nut Shell by Hawkins, good but just cute, skipped over a lot. Also, incumpeses more then just physics etc.) Or even better yet, maybe a book about quantum physics.... I am a proofs kind of person.

    Any Suggestions?

I really enjoyed Griffith's books when I was an undergraduate. I found them extremely readable and yet they contain the formalism and mathematical rigor necessary to really understand physics. He has 3 books, Quantum Mechanics, Electrodynamics, and Particle Physics. All of them are very good. A nice "cute" book which I always enjoy reading is "The Dancing Wu Li Masters".

    Hope this helps a bit.

One of my favourites is "The Future of Spacetime." It is actually a series of lectures given on Kip Thorne's 60th birthday by physicists such as Stephen Hawking and Igor Novikov on spacetime and relativity. Since it was taken from public lectures, it doesn't contain much mathematics, but it is significantly more advanced than "cute" books like "Universe in a Nutshell." I would definately recommend it if you're looking for a book focusing on relativity, wormholes, or time travel.
