The universe is a little more complicated than that.. I am drawn to say, I do not know.

I have to type some gibberish here because I cannot just post links as stand alone posts.

After looking at and yes reading from the two links... I did not suggest non rotational as a option... it would be the norm...

some digestion of mathematics is slowly becoming less than a blurr...

Not a single jot towards a contradiction of my thinking whatsoever... I will come out of my bunker some time next year.... just for a look.

Actually, yes, but the circumstance would be highly unlikely: Smaller, rapidly spinning BH approaches a significantly larger BH at a high rate of relative velocity. The spin of the smaller BH is such that the equator is in the same or similar plane as the center of the larger BH and the path of the smaller BH. The spin is also fastest on the side of the smaller BH located on the opposite side as the larger BH. The path of the smaller BH will take it's centroid to a distance from the larger BH's event horizon such that the rearward-moving portion of the smaller BH will pinch off from the forward rotating part, and the larger BH will swallow a portion of the smaller BH, leaving a remnant to continue onward.

That's the theory, anyway. Testing it's a bit difficult.
As for those whose curiosities fall along more fanciful lines, I suggest it's because they have more money than they know what to do with while not having had enough science and engineering to know what they're dealing with.

LoL do you realize the irony in saying humility is your strongest characteristic? How humble is that?

Who and what are you talking of and to... 'I can not see how this has anything to do with the Splitting of Black Holes..

    The conversation thus far...

On that matter and the Wiki links provided.. Only confirms the notion that a fast rotating BH is not likely to exceed its own gravity well.

Unless a other force is apparent ; a second BH. Which is not to say it could not happen. It could.

We do not have a case study of a split BH that does not involve a close second mass..

and that in all of those cases 'splitting' may not be the most accurate term. Exchanging mass, stealing, consuming.. eating..

I do not see splitting as a observed case yet.
