I got a message asking me to introduce myself.
I am an author who is writing a set of books that look deceptively like everyday life in the near future 2010 to 2025. But the plot is defined by the string and loop theories of space/time. The question I'm exploring is: What will our lives look like if the string and loop theories come to dominate physics.

Other than staring at a computer screen, I watch the sky.
There was an ice pillar this morning. The pillar was a bit squat with a cloud hiding the very top. It was 20 degrees F outside. Much warmer than I would have predicted for a pillar to form. But there were pockets of fog around and no wind.
Just after the sun rose, the deer were on the move -- a herd of about 25 mule deer came to hide in the shelter belt and two whitetail ran on toward the reservoir.
When I'm lucky, this is how my days begin.
