Hi, my name is John and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and English from the University at Buffalo. I know, weird combination. My reason for subscribing is that I have always had an interest in cosmology, dating back to 1983 when I first subscribed to Astronomy magazine. Without enough background to really know what people are studying and theorizing, I feel lost. However, "dark matter" and "dark energy" seem to me to be similar to the "ether" of the 19th century. For those who don't the history of physics, that was the stuff that was supposed to be the medium for the transmission of electromagnetic waves but it never panned out. I am here to learn more about this and related topics, especially general relativity.
