"Flights of Fancy" is a common expression. Flying is often associated with dreaming or fantasizing... Flight itself was a fantastic dream for mankind for thousands of years.
I was given the name "Neverfly" when I was about 6 years old. But the answer is somewhat complex, as the translation between Lakota and English isn't perfect and because of how we associate words like "hope" or "dream" (usually as positive things) in English. It means "Hopeless one" or "Non Dreamer" but the problem is that it doesn't carry the negative connotation that English implies. Rather, the name was supposed to serve as a reminder to keep ones feet on the ground- To not Fly in dreams and fantasy but to stay grounded in reality.
Something that I seemed to have a problem with in my childhood.

I actually did like BAUT. It has a lot to offer and to this day, I still recommend it to morons and conspiracy theorists I chance across.

I was one of many people that watched it get stuffier over time. One can always justify more rule enforcement and more rules. It's not quite so easy to justify relaxing and stepping back. But it is necessary to relax moderation. For some at that forum, they were so caught up in explaining and justifying the necessity for iron fisted rule enforcement, they simply could not hear the Human Voice begging for freedom. As a conspiracy theorist countering all arguments and fervently pressing their case- Their ears were closed to basic simple human behavior and its needs.

BAUT taught me a bit about self control. And the truth is: I got away with a hell of a lot there.

But I did not "get away" with enough, either. It's a good forum to find strong backgrounds and sound science. It's a good forum if you like arguing with a sock in your mouth. I do think that debates and arguments should be as polite and civil as possible. But I do not believe that feces can be gold plated.

I'm going to go ahead and double post.

I had decided to check my email for any new wondrous offers of great Time Share Investments and Organ enlargement products, when I chanced across an email from one, "Smugaliens" or something like that.
This overconfident extra terrestrial said that he and Tommac (A particularly too polite algebra 101 failure) had gone off the deep end and started their own forum. Great. As if the internet wasn't already unreliable and full of misinformation...

One does wonder: How much does a server and a vBulletin subscription cost?

Are these folks actually shelling out their own cash to create a place for armchair physicists with no lives to come drivel their opinions like slobbery drool oozing across the bar countertops?

Sigh...

Such foolishness should be Punished.

Mainly, by making these folks miserable. Over work them by questioning all moderator action, inciting drama and spewing forth horribly inaccurate scientific "facts" to bloody their fingertips at Googles front door checking (Possibly Snopes, as well) and referencing and correcting... So I registered. How much misery, how many offensive posts and inane comments I can muster- I have not yet decided. I may vanish forever after this post. Or plague the forum for weeks, (maybe even a month if the Admins have great therapists). Even so..Sincerely; Thanks, you fools!
