Default still curious after all these years

At age 23 I put an unfinished physics PhD thesis in the trash (Washington University) and told my graduate adviser that getting a PhD in physics was not my calling. I worked in the medical imaging field as a consultant, employee and entrepreneur. I founded two companies and sold them to public firms. In early 1990s I did pursue another call. Attended seminary in Cambridge Mass and am now serving as an ordained priest in Oklahoma. (www.GraceMuskogee.org)

Still I love to read about cosmology. I can no longer do the math but have a reasonable grasp of things. BTW I take the Nicene Creed and other of the stranger claims of Christianity on a very broad basis. Most of what people think of as Christianity today actually consists of heresies settled long ago. The nice thing about physics is it is about theory, experiment and whether things fit together rationally. \infty plus ultra!

One doesn't need to be transferred to an observatory to be a productive and contributory astronomer.
Amateur astronomers routinely make discoveries and are relied upon for watching the sky.

Doing what you love is probably one of the more fundamental avenues to a healthy and more satisfied mind.
Admittedly, cosmology is a bit different.

    Hope you enjoy this forum.

CTW What made you change to religion? I believe both are similar.
