Red face String Theory geek girl

Hi. I am a grad student at Stanford. I breathe, dream, and lay in the clouds of supersymmetry fantasies.

    Hi String Theory geek girl,

Nice to make your acquaintance. I am a 59 yr old astrophysicist from UCSD. Had a few friends at one time at Stanford, but that was long ago. So long, in fact, that I have only feeble memory of that (it was 30+ years ago, and I interviewed once at Stanford for a professorship, and that was almost 30 years ago as well). What are you studying, and who is your advisor there?

    Very best regards,

    Rick

Below is my introductory note to the group. Tonight is the first night that I've wandering into this group, and I thought (if they'll let me) I'd try to help.

    Hi All,

Stepping in here. I think I will leave this group soon as I think I won't fit in. I am a PhD astrophysicist. Just looking around to see what's going on. You will find I have strong, science guided opinions. I pride myself at not being closed to new ideas, but I am demanding in my need for reasons to believe this or that. This is also true of my own beliefs. Really, it make it hard to be accepting of most stuff. Is this a failing? Is this a disadvantage in life? Some tell me so, but I think not. Let's see what people have to say here. You will find me patient. I am willing to offer opinion and listen to that of others. Hello, everyone!

    Rick
