Default 53 Year old Former Physician Assistant with Intense Interest in the Cosmos

    Hello everyone,

I am a 53 year-old male, a former physician assistant (PA) with an intense interest in the Cosmos. Ever since I was a young lad, I had a deep-seated interest in space and technology. If the technology were as advanced as it is today, I most likely would have pursued a career in Cosmology or Astro-physics, I am quite sure. Why I chose medicine, in fact, as a career sometimes boggles my mind, as I have such an intense interest in such things as space-time and the Universe (as the title of this forum suggests). I have read many books concerning the field of space and technology, such as Brian Greene and Stephen Hawking, although this represents a small representation of what I have been exposed to with respect to print and the media. In fact, I am currently reading "The Hidden Reality: Parallel Universes and the Deep Laws of the Cosmos" along with my son, a chemist who lives in Ohio. I am currently residing in Florida, near Ocala, which is somewhat adjacent to Gainesville, home of the Gators.

I joined this forum to discuss the aforementioned topics as well as a host of others as they apply to space and technology. I am interested in such other issues as time travel (and if it is actually possible), the General Theory of Relativity (I have read a book about the topic somewhat recently), as well as future space exploration of space, including beyond our own Solar System. I am keenly interested in time and space time, how it is warped with the effects of Gravity as well as (as I mentioned) a general host of other issues as they might apply to this forum and the interest of others who are members of this forum and future members as they come aboard. I would like to engage in intelligent, thought-provoking conversations with others in this forum; others are certainly invited to engage me and ask me questions or inform me of other issues as they apply to the forum. I am excited to be a member and I am looking forward to discussions and conversations in the very near future.

Welcome aboard, mea505. Join in, ask question, give answers, lurk for a while, whatever suits your fancy. Question for you; Your still young (at least compared to me), why not take some courses in one of the local (go Gators) universities/colleges.
