    The 'i' is what ? A short abbreviated term for my self. To portray one's self as i. Is expectable.

    How can it be used as a mathematics term ? i = what ? Because if it is 1. Then you haven't changed anything...
    i = sq rt of -1

    I think it is an interesting one if we make it 2i or 10i or something like that. I'm trying to start with the easier case, though, and work through negative base

    For example, I think that you can represent all integers, zero, positive, and negative, in base -10 without using a minus sign, and that such representation is unique.

    Now just calm down Atomic-S...and might I bid yee welcome..

    It will be all right.. All those horrid number thingies are not coming to get you...

    They have no want to destroy your life... If you ignore them they will just whimper on their own for a while.. like a fish on the deck.

    and eventually like Mr Hawkins Black Holes.. will just evaporate away... or one hopes that is what might happen..

    It may not be obvious to all but I did start this thread for a reason.. and it might not be clear to all :O:...

    In a adjacent thread we are talking of the numeric rashness of 1 = 0.999... I, claiming it never quite does..

    As a demonstration to and of that point about the language we use to talk arithmetic..

    I displayed the logic of changing the base number.. It makes the issue go away... Some of them missed my jibe ...

    I have found this a entertainment of some interest and still...

    for my part I do hope you recover from this maths nightmare... and are not further traumatised by 'The Numbers'... Mark.
