The last few posters who disrespected the state were gone within 24 hours...

    Probably just a coincidence.

The new bill has no effect. The first and second Patriot acts passed under dubya already gave the power to arrest US citizens without trial and without even informing anyone where you had vanished to. USA has been a fascist police state for some years alre4ady.

Thats true. I believe the new bill "allows" you to be arrested even outside of the country. There would be no where to hide even if left the country and wanted nothing to do with it.

    Its 'gahbage'.

It's all due to civil unrest. The populace is no longer following along like sheep. We have all kinda gone schizoid lately. TP & OWS, the entire nation is showing signs of bipolar disorder, according to the pharmaceutical industry. Not.

'Kinda' true though. The ATF, and Homeland Security has been spending lots of time monitoring people and groups stock-piling weapons and ammo in the U.S...I read that December 2011 marked the purchase of the most hand-guns ever bought in one month by U.S. citizens. Merry Christmas, lil honey, here's yer .44 Ruger Redhawk jes like ya wanted.

This LAW will make internal "terrorists" go away the same route as the external ones. Problem is, who are OUR 'terrorists' wanting to fight? Or protect? I'm not condoning anything, I refuse to own a gun, I'm just saying the hair on my neck stood up when I heard of this.
There is a remote tribe out there that worships the number zero. Is nothing sacred???

    Yeah!

We have all kinda gone schizoid lately.
Huh? I'm as sane as I ever was. Before you quip on your own words, recall my duties in the AF involved direct access to and control of nuclear weapons. Not exactly a task left to the fringe element.

If you're referring to half the nation growing further right while the other grows further left, ok. Individually, I see We, the People, leveraging the same technology (The Internet) Obama used to win the election to educate themselves as to his true nature.

Is this a derisive comment against those of us Americans who choose to exercise our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms? I'm supplying you with a little attachment, a 1982 Congressional Study on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. It discusses the historical context, as well as the extent and limitations of our Second Amendment. I found it quite eye-opening.

That's a Super Redhawk. But for day-to-day OC or CC, I opt for my 9mm.

OC: Open Carry - Legal in 43 states, often without a license.
CC: Concealed Carry - Legal in all states; difficult to obtain a license in a few.

The term "terrorist" may be handy for both the government to cement their case and for the media to sensationalize an event, but when applied to most domestic massacres, it is completely incorrect. Cho (Virginia Tech) was no terrorist. Neither was Jared Loughner (Congresswoman Giffords) or the two nuts who went ballistic on Columbine. Terrorism is the systematic use of terror, especially as a means of coercion. These nut jobs had no system -- they simply went on a suicidal rampage. They weren't using it as a means of coercion, either. Their "goals" range from "suicide by cop" to getting back at "the system" or individuals whom they feel hurt them in some manner.

Furthermore, no law has EVER even hindered these nut jobs. The lawful obey laws. Nut jobs aren't lawful. They're law-breakers. Therefore, all the laws in the world will not stop them, not before they pull the trigger the first few times. Nor will all the federal agencies in the world.

Sorry, FBI, ATF, and others local, county, state, and federal law enforcement, but when seconds count, law enforcement is just minutes away...

The only laws which help protect individual citizens are those which protect the rights of citizens to protect themselves. Here in Colorado, our Constitution fully recognizes the U.S. Constitution and its Amendments. Open Carry is legal. Concealed Carry requires a permit, but ours is a "shall-issue" state.

I'm not condoning anything, I refuse to own a gun...
Your choice. I carry 100% of the time, not because I don't trust law enforcement to do their job, but because when bad things happen, they do so in mere second. Personal protection isn't something that can wait for the minutes it takes law enforcement to arrive. Until they do arrive, we have two options: Defending ourselves or being a victim.

I'm just saying the hair on my neck stood up when I heard of this.
Fortunately, the bill wasn't approved as initially drafted. It was modified so that U.S. citizens would not be subject to these illegal detentions.
As for those whose curiosities fall along more fanciful lines, I suggest it's because they have more money than they know what to do with while not having had enough science and engineering to know what they're dealing with.

Beware of middle age angry men... argue or disagree and a gun gets pulled and used..

and over a silly argument of almost no significance or threat..

When a simple conversation would have resolved any issue.. and a person dies.

I do not need to argue the point but the facts support the conclusion that gun wielding people tend to use them..

Disarm the community and the death toll drops..

However the right and need to be able to defend yourself, property and family must be retained.

More police and fewer guns would be my method of attaining a better community. Education is the best answer yet.
