Default Scientists Debunk Anthropogenic Global Warming

"For climate science it means that the Hockey Team climatologists’ insistence that human-emitted CO2 is the only thing that could account for the recent warming trend is probably poppycock."

    The Foresight Institute's "Historical Perspective."

Unlike many anti-AGW posts, these scientists explain why. In detail.

"A new record: the most sea ice in Antarctica in 30 years by extent and by volume."

    Link.

You know why all the pro-AGW websites aren't posting these updates? It's simple, really: THEY'RE EMBARRASSED AS HELL.

I like graphs... I worked with them and found them a wonderful way of implanting a register of values of changes and values as seen, or recorded.. That over a period of four years and six months I worked at sea on a govt., research vessel. The 'R V Tangaroa' out of Wellington., and that it seemed like far too often we were in the Southern Ocean. With Tasmania and NZ seemingly far to far away.. I observed first hand many such ice burgs as to call them ice fields.. Sleeping was a option often denied.. a bump in the night was always concerning.. was it ice, and yes it was.. whew.
A agree with you in regard to anthropogenic Global Warming. When you take all the information collected so meticulously and extrapolate a trend.. it's bugger all of next to nothing.. I enjoy the scientific method. Using just that which we know and can test as true I think I dare say that YES there is and will continue to be climate change.. and that humanity in it's blind blundering disregard may be responsible for some of the carbon increase we seem to have such great trouble finding... knowing that as we speak of this, around this globe a few volcanoes are spewing forth more carbon dioxide than is good for us... Planet Earth it would seem is a continuing to evolve regardless and in spite of humanity. A good link. Thanks mugaliens.. Your thoughts are refreshingly clear. My memories of those Southern Ocean trips are filled with what seemed like such a pointless study. Some of what we know came from the people I sat around the table with. Now we study Earth from space and so much information is collected a bank of computers is whizzing away 24 / 7 to find a trend or change.. and some very big money seems to get in the way of the science.. interesting a..?

Indeed, and global warming scientists themselves are coming out of the woodwork to expose the lie perpetrated by the likes of BA/BAUT/CQ, particularly one Tusenfem, who repeatedly abused his moderation powers to perpetuate the lie by infracting and suspending me any time I shared information such as the following:

"[V]ariations in solar energy output have far more effect on Earth’s climate than soccer moms driving SUVs,” Southwestern Law School professor Joerg Knipprath, writes in his ‘Token Conservative’ blog. “A rational thinker would understand that, especially if he or she has some understanding of the limits of human influence. But the global warming boosters have this unbounded hubris that it is humans who control nature, and that human activity can terminally despoil the planet as well as cause its salvation." - Source: Scientific American

After countless responses by idiotic BAUTizens, during which they continued to blather on with the party line, claiming that sunspots had nothing to do with global warming, and that such comments were "against the mainstream," here we are, just a few years later, when mainstream science is saying otherwise.

Meanwhile, the moneychangers continue to myopically focus on irradiance, while doggedly ignoring the fact that the mechanism linking sunspots and global warming has little to do with irradiance, a fact I've been hammering back for seven years, now.

One guy nails the recent Philippine fasting delegate's hide to the wall in reference to this article:

"Oh, please... Anthropogenic (man-made) Global Warming has been systematically, scientifically, and thoroughly debunked over the last decade. Only corrupt scientists holding expensive government purse strings continue to beat that dead horse, along with other scientists who've swallowed the mantra (despite it being outside their specialty) and media groups whose liberal agendas bow down to the hot air windbag known as Al Gore.

Meanwhile, back in the halls of SCIENCE, we've thoroughly demonstrated how global warming and cooling patterns over the last 500 years strongly follow sunspot activity. We've also demonstrated that the successful ban on chemicals which harm the ozone layer has resulted in its repair, which itself is largely responsible for the plateau and even slight cooling of the last decade.

Indeed: "Several solar scientists speculated that the sun may be returning to a more relaxed state after an era of unusually high activity that started in the 1940s." Source: Wall Street Journal. Link: Strange Doings on the Sun - WSJ.com

I find it very curious indeed that the modern (there have been others, before) global warming trend began shortly after the "unusually high activity that started in the 1940s," and now that the activity has been settling down, so have global temperatures.

    DON'T YOU?"

    Indeed!

If the guy hasn't already been given the boot in response to BA/BAUT/CQ's infinite oblividom, it may be because he's gotten the word and avoids them like the plague.

And where are all the BAUT naysayers who vociferously and vehemently stood their ground behind the false science of AGW, suspending and even banning its members who dared challenge them?

The only thing anthropogenic about global warming is the man-made idea that global warming is man-made.

Default Oh, Gee - Sunspots Are Tied to Earth's Weather After All...

The current lull in the sunspot cycle (Cycle 24) has scientists questioning what effect it may have on Earth.

    Really? (facepalm) No, wait...

    Triple Facepalm Composite.jpg

Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it, so here's a little sunspot history for you: "Like the Dalton Minimum and Spörer Minimum, the Maunder Minimum coincided with a period of lower-than-average European temperatures." - Wikipedia (Maunder Minimum)

Given the FACT that arctic sea ice was up 60% in 2013, contrary to the pro-AGW predictions it'd be even less than it was in 2012, I'd say the pro-AGW still haven't gotten the clue that sunspots are directly related to warming and cooling trends. One problem is that the IPCC reports strongly indicate scientists have ONLY considered irradiance. They have unilaterally dismissed all other impacts sunspots have on space weather, without either understanding what those effects may be, or their own impact on Earth's climate. That may be why, when observations such as the current minimum arise, you find pseudo-scientists walking around scratching their heads, balls, and backsides wondering what in the world is happening, while real scientists, including those who've studied the historical link between sunspots and warming/cooling, are jumping up and down saying, "See? Told you so."

Another problem is that far too many scientists and scientific organizations have tied their future, if not their very economic existence, to the premise that AGW is valid. Sort of a "corporate lobotomy, and if you challenge it, you're fired." Sort of undermines their credibility when their party line is proven wrong, don't you think? Particularly when they employ idiots like Tusenfem as moderators on "science" forums to either hammer the opposition into submission or ban us altogether when we refuse to shut up.

This leads us to another question: What are we going to call the current minimum? Here's a thought: Let's call it Mug's Minimum, in honor of the fact I've been tooting this horn for a decade. That's and the fact that it rolls off the tongue.

I am, however, wide open to other suggestions, including "The IPCC Was WRONG Minimum," and "BAUT is just another word for 'incompetence" Minimum."

Default Yet more examples - PICTURE!

This picture (click on it for the full-sized view), is of the science vessel and its scientists/passengers, frozen in ice in the Antarctic, as they sailed to test their hypothesis of the ice caps melting. 'The Akademik Shokalskiy' is reportedly encased in a solid 3 meters of ice. Challenging conditions have continued to cause chaos with a Chinese icebreaker that was also involved in the rescue ALSO BECAME TRAPPED IN ICE! This brings the number of icebreakers sent to free the vessel to 3.

Al Gore said that our ice caps would be melted by 2013, and that the science of the day backed him. Make that immature science. As recently as 2009, Tusenfem of BA/BAUT/CQ infamy was hammering, even banning anyone who disagreed with Gore's theory of anthropogenic global warming. So, the the next time you hear the church of climatology open their mouth, or encounter non-scientist mods on BA/BAUT/CQ who claim they're enforcing science, but are really doing nothing more than spouting the politically correct pseudo-science party line, review these pictures.

Al Gore is not a Scientist- he's a former politician who has an active interest in the environment- but is not a climatologist. Using him to try to refute Climate Change arguments is nonsense.
There is overwhelming evidence that human carbon dioxide production has had a massive impact on climate change and the models to be examined are not old ones spouted by Al Gore, but rather the ones put forth by climate scientists with current information.

    Really...

    Hell Froze Over.jpg

    Al Gore - Frozen Over.jpg

The "overwhelming evidence" includes an ever-increasing CO2 curve but a temp curve that's not only stalled for more than a decade, but one that's begun to reverse. This begs the obvious question, and the IPCC has been scrambling to save face, while continuing to discount, if not totally ignore, the overwhelming evidence that changes in sunspot activity has for the last couple thousand years preceded changes in temps.
