I wrote a poem. Want me to read it?

    There once was a lad
    who was ever so sad
'Cause when he tried to be good
tried as hard as he could
    He only ended up bad
    and made everyone mad.

I log in and look to see not a great deal of activity here.. " Where have they gone ?" That 'they might be out tracking 'Pokimon' I have no idea..
'The science forum .com' is down again and so I look for friends to talk with.. I see the names of some who will know of me..

I am forming a view that this and other forums of chat and banter are falling away from interests of people..
Can we revitalise these pages or are people too distracted..
Always listening, watching, learning. Wanting to comment not judge.

Human beings have been looking for answers since before the spoken language. The effect of pareidolia is merely a primitive form of it.
Answers abound, but not all of them are very trustworthy or reliable. Many are simply made up to suit the ego or fancy.
As long as we promote seeking answers in independently verifiable data, the scientific method and experimentation, we can revitalize these pages. Because we can point not only toward verifiable answers, but to possibilities, to hopes and to the future.

The board needs to get some new cranks, or at least the existing cranks need to learn some new tricks. As it is now, it's just the same thing over and over and over. The same joke just isn't funny the 12,000th time.

Yes and the jokes were not funny to begin with.
It is true that argumentation and dissension keep it interesting. Usually forums like these have ongoing debates over the Apollo landings, 9-11, Einstein-the-moron and so on. But here, the membership was already small and then the cranks decimated the activity of the board, driving off active membership.
Maybe I'm lame... But I'd like to see actual scientific discussions. I mean, there is so much to learn about... So much I am ignorant about... A great deal of the content in my posts these days reflects the learning I was doing on forums before now.

If we cannot learn here, grow here, we cannot argue very effectively, either.
Will this forum ever begin to rebuild its membership? Maybe, very slowly over time. But it will require commitment and tolerance.

I think many people left cause somtimes u have to let thoughts simmer, before the universe is created/always existed. Less push and more pull on ideas, thoughts and theories might help Neverfly. Never stifle.

There is a difference between discussing ideas and throwing crap against the wall and hoping it sticks.

I half expected that now the "Science Forum" is down people may migrated over to this forum. I see no evidence of this yet but maybe it needs a little more time. This is a good forum that went a bit wayward, it good be a great forum. It now needs time and membership to achieve its full potential. As Neverfly mentioned we need to encourage healthy discussions, not crap & trolling.

David i here u. I will try to get along but why are we throwing crap on the wall. Also who exactly is throwing the crap on the wall and why. People can get mad then let it go, but he will always think he is superior. I cant let that go. He cant put words in my mouth and be wrong about so much without showing proof. The tech industry is catching up. Show proof always or keep it in check ✔. All i ask. Also a moderator, if u have a opinion on an a opinion or hypothesis or theory u should not be the one to use your power. It becomes a dictatorship. Nuff said.
