Follow the basic "Who, where, why, when and what."
Who was involved in the Apollo Project?
    Where did it take place?
Why was the project given the go-ahead?
    When did this happen?
What were the details of what happened?

An assignment that instructs you to write a "News Article" is just asking you to write a report.
That is what journalists do, they write reports all day long. That is why they are called reporters.

    Here's a tip:
Most of these heros that went to the Moon were already Legends before Apollo. It would be a very informative as well as a different angle to report on the careers of Buzz Aldrin or Neil Armstrong prior to the Apollo Missions and what their accomplishments were. Going to the Moon was just the icing on top of the icing on the cake.
And Buzz Aldrin is still Legend...

"When photons interact with electrons, they are interacting with the charge around a "bare" mass, and thus the interaction is electromagnetic, hence light. This light slows the photon down." - BuleriaChk
