    Default Energy and stuff.....

Please leave thoughts on this topic.

I was watching Planet Earth on Discovery when it struck me how beautiful it all was, SO, as a normal curious person I sought the views of other people onto which I was told to F*** off. As telling them didn't do anything I looked at the comments and found many directly related to conserving and cutting down energy needs, some even suggested we cut off electricity completely.

Well with each passing year it becomes more apparent that more people are concerned with the changes coming to Earth through Man Kinds "Influence". They use influence as a type of disease, they express it through Climate change (Fake, well, I Could go on), General Pollution, and over-harvesting of resources. While I would agree on some of these such as some types of pollutions i DON"T agree with the over harvesting aspect of this equation.

The repercussions would be massive, We would have to rethink a lot of things to make such a transition work properly and effectively. First, it would cut off resources to companies already being stretched to the limit with this great economic position. Second, Other countries already in the crapper would totally collapse, the income of food, medicine, and water would be cut and they're growing Economies would collapse because "green" energy would have replaced Oil etc. Third, Social disorder would come to each country, this would be caused by simply by the lack of Energy. Not to mention the people having a fit, "well the Bird population could go down, and that fish is gonna go extinct!" People, choose one, you wanna have Green energy or save wildlife....

If we (Humans) Don't get off Earth then who will tells its story? As Humans with a Consciousness we ourselves are essentially Earth, not just rocks but we are the mindset, Like a Human body is the Physical extension, the Earth is just a bigger extension (so to speak). We are the thinking mind behind it, are we not?

(Sorry for my sentence structure and grammar...)

Now to possible solutions to the "Energy" Crisis that I have come up with. (Ill need opinions on this as well)

Well, the biggest Energy producer that's closest to us is that big ball of Gas, oh yeah, the Sun, that thing that gives off amazing amounts of energy (3.8 x 10^23 kilowatt-hours. )That does require a lot of Solar panels, in Space of course. As another figure, Every hour, the sun radiates more energy onto the earth than the entire human population uses in one whole year. That figure was published by "American Energy Independence" While I'm a little suspicious in direct sunlight a area of one-square meter can receive over 1 Kilowatt (1000 watts) in one day. That's pretty amazing. The one thing that's more amazing and stupid is how we position them. While I'm not arguing with the people who placed them but its Sunlight, and in one hour we can collect that much? The put them everywhere (almost). Especially the damn Ocean, When Sunlight hits the surface of the water is amplifies it and makes it stronger. Why the hell aren't we using this to our advantage?! Solar Energy is Clean, there's lots of it, and it sure as hell aint going anywhere for the next 5 billion years or so. Plus, the Sun is the greatest Heater known to Mankind

Wind Energy, directly related to the Sun. There are 900 good sites in the US alone where over 100,000 Turbines could be placed, If we all drove Electric cars, then that alone could power them. A figure suggests if we capture every little last Watt of energy from wind (Area not given) we could harvest over 72 trillion Watts a Year, which is 5 times more than the Worlds 12-15 Trillion watts a year.

Now that 72 trillion watt power mark maybe be a little while down the road but if we combine both Electric and wind at there lowest levels, its still a large amount.

There are many different sources of Clean Energy, but Humanity is to picky, if Animals can't adapt then they wont survive and they will go extinct, If Humans can't mature and decide then we'll go extinct. Like the Stars before us that died to make our bodies and this Earth, you have to give a little bit.

I know what your thinking "At the beginning you were talking about over harvesting and now your talking about stuff we already know!" Well my stupid friend, we know its there but fail to use it in ways thinking outside the box. Plus I'm hoping to spark a thought In yo mind foo....

By who? And where? In response to what?

As telling them didn't do anything I looked at the comments and found many directly related to conserving and cutting down energy needs...
    Sensible.

...some even suggested we cut off electricity completely.
    Not sensible. In fact, nonsensical.

Well with each passing year it becomes more apparent that more people are concerned with the changes coming to Earth through Man Kinds "Influence". They use influence as a type of disease, they express it through Climate change (Fake, well, I Could go on)...
Climate change is real. Whether mankind is the cause of it remains in doubt. According to the model, because our CO2 level has continued rising, the temperature should have continued rising, as well. Instead, we find a 16-year plateau, which, interestingly, corresponds to a fizzle in the last sunspot cycle. Sunspots are known to strongly correlate with earlier minimums and maximums over the last 500 years. Correlation does not imply causation. There may be a third-party mechanism responsible for both, or they may yet cause variations in the Earth's temperature by means of a mechanism about which were as yet unaware.

Discounting the sunspot relevance altogether, however, while simultaneously discounting the plateau as evidence that something else is at work with respect to Earth's temperature, is the sort of thing politically-correct AGW worshippers do. When those folks are "science" forum admins/mods, their folly is revealed, and they do a grave disservice to science, probably while being funded and pressured by organizations claiming to be scientific in nature, but who're really in it for the money.

General Pollution, and over-harvesting of resources. While I would agree on some of these such as some types of pollutions i DON"T agree with the over harvesting aspect of this equation.
I would agree with respect to most pollution, as well as with some over-harvesting aspects. Crop rotation is essential for proper soil management, as is turning a crop under every once in a while. Similarly, we have definitely over-harvested certain fish in the ocean. Most fish designed to feed humans are at 1/3rd their levels in the year 1800. That's had a dramatic effect on the health and ecology of the oceans.

    The repercussions would be massive...
I thought you were arguing it would be no big deal?

We would have to rethink a lot of things to make such a transition work properly and effectively. Species come and go. Sometimes they evolve into new species; sometimes they become extinct. Regardless, even after several extinction level events, biodiversity on the Earth today is greater than it's ever been.

If we (Humans) Don't get off Earth then who will tells its story?
To whom are we supposed to tell it? We've yet to find any credible evidence of alien life capable of understanding a story.

As Humans with a Consciousness we ourselves are essentially Earth, not just rocks but we are the mindset, Like a Human body is the Physical extension, the Earth is just a bigger extension (so to speak). We are the thinking mind behind it, are we not?
No, we're not. We're from Earth, but Earth is the big blue marble. I'm the tiny pink standing (well, sitting) on it.

Now to possible solutions to the "Energy" Crisis that I have come up with. (Ill need opinions on this as well)
    Ok...

Well, the biggest Energy producer that's closest to us is that big ball of Gas, oh yeah, the Sun, that thing that gives off amazing amounts of energy (3.8 x 10^23 kilowatt-hours. )That does require a lot of Solar panels, in Space of course. Your figure is high, and you're confusing kW with kW-hrs.

That's pretty amazing. The one thing that's more amazing and stupid is how we position them. While I'm not arguing with the people who placed them but its Sunlight, and in one hour we can collect that much? The put them everywhere (almost). Not true, and you'd be blocking solar radiation into the ocean, which creates its own set of problems. Erecting panels in the desert makes far more sense, except for those who'd wine about the nearly non-existent "desert ecology."

Why the hell aren't we using this to our advantage?! Solar Energy is Clean, there's lots of it, and it sure as hell aint going anywhere for the next 5 billion years or so. Plus, the Sun is the greatest Heater known to Mankind
We are. Problem is, solar panels aren't cheap, primarily because those at the top are making massive $$$ off selling them to others. If we'd reform our patent system to allow for greater competition, they'd be dirt-cheap.

Wind Energy, directly related to the Sun. There are 900 good sites in the US alone where over 100,000 Turbines could be placed. If we all drove Electric cars, then that alone could power them. And create a massive eyesore in the process! Seriously - I hate wind power. It's ugly! Furthermore, you're sucking energy from our climate, which itself has some serious repercussions. Erecting solar panels over a desert has far fewer repercussions.

Now that 72 trillion watt power mark maybe be a little while down the road but if we combine both Electric and wind at there lowest levels, its still a large amount.
You mean solar and wind, don't you? They both produce electricity.

There are many different sources of Clean Energy, but Humanity is to picky, if Animals can't adapt then they wont survive and they will go extinct, If Humans can't mature and decide then we'll go extinct. Like the Stars before us that died to make our bodies and this Earth, you have to give a little bit.
    Agreed.
As for those whose curiosities fall along more fanciful lines, I suggest it's because they have more money than they know what to do with while not having had enough science and engineering to know what they're dealing with.

First, I would like to apologize for the horrible structure.

"By who? And where? In response to what?"

    Social Media sites, Youtube Etc...

Good Opinion, Climate Change is real, excuse me, Global Warming however Isn't. (its real but isn't happening at the extent they are claiming)

"Species come and go. Sometimes they evolve into new species; sometimes they become extinct. Regardless, even after several extinction level events, biodiversity on the Earth today is greater than it's ever been."

    More or less agreed.

"To whom are we supposed to tell it? We've yet to find any credible evidence of alien life capable of understanding a story."

You really think were alone in the Universe bro?

"Your figure is high, and you're confusing kW with kW-hrs."

    I'm not that bright

Your right, let the light weave through the solar panels? Im sure a system of mirros (Very Illogical) should do well. I can think of amny other ways to bring the Light.

I'm not saying you SUCK ALL THE ENERGY WITH ALL THE WIND TURBINES! I'm saying its a very good alternate energy source, No one can argue it.

Pffft, Embarrassing, now that I look back, I could have done a lot better.
