I just burned up on re-entry - again.
Then I wondered if others here were aware of Orbiter www.orbitersim.com the space flight simulator.
Although I usually fly the Delta Glider IV, I think I'm going to do a Space Shuttle commemorative mission.

It sounds like fun, I will have to look for the time to install it
If you're going to burn up on re-entry, much better to do it in the simulator!
Proud advocate of the ATM idea that 0.999... is equal to one.
Time Dilation effect - I flew to the Moon and back and it didn't seem to take very long - but many hours had passed.
Strange sense of being both the observer and the observed.
I LOVE Orbiter! First I found "Celestia", open source astronomy. Awesome. Then I found "Orbiter", also open source, which allowed me to actually fly missions to the things I saw in "Celestia", way awesome. Then out of frustration, I found "FlightGear". Open source flight simulator. I apparently need to learn aeronautics, then begin learning astronautics. In a year or so, I might be able to launch a space shuttle without killing my crew. :^\
Mess up docking with the space station, put the shuttle into a zero-G full gimbal. barf. reset.
There is a remote tribe out there that worships the number zero. Is nothing sacred???
Both fun and free. Good find.
I award your with 5 internets.
Don't spend em all in one place.
With some add-ons from Dan Steph my little lego-men astronauts can drive around on the Moon in a Lunar Rover.
Last night I got lost on the way to Jupiter and ran out of fuel. That ship's now in an orbit that should bring it back into the inner Solar System in a bit more than 5000 years. Those guys will be mummies by then.
Manned space exploration is not without it's risks.
