I'm mildly intrigued by the different appearance of the oxygen inlet connectors on the front of the torso assembly. In some photographs they appear metallic blue. In others, they have more a anodized silver appearance. I'm guessing this is a lighting effect, possibly made more pronounced in certain photographs by film stock and processing (there is a definite shift in the reds and the whites in those pictures where the blue is most pronounced). However, I would assume that at the right angle, then, the connector would show both looks; and I can't find such an example. Is there possibly some other explanation? Wear seems out -- the look is too regular. Some sort of bleaching effect, some chemical or UV reaction perhaps? Or -- my best alternate at the moment -- for one reason or another the museum examples replaced or touched up the connectors. Any ideas?
