We have these local jumping spiders I believe are larger than the ones National Geographic states are the largest in the world. As on several occasions I've seen mine exceed .5 inchs easily. I've seen them take down full grown blowflys numerous times and have even seen larger ones attack and subdue bumblebees at least three times. These spiders have black legs and cephlathorax and furry red abdomens. With some only being red on top and others the entire abdomen is red. But for some reason my google-fu has failed me in finding a picture for you guys. I keep getting Aussie redbacks.
