Gibor Basri is watching for oculation = eclipse of a star by a planet. It likely works poorly for a bright planet such as Venus or Mars, but may be great for dwarf planets, asteroids and comets. My guess is you need sophisticated equipment and observations of the same event from multiple locations to learn new stuff about the star and the "planet' that oculated it. Neil
