Thread: Setting up a proposal to INTERCEPT time travelers and recycle future technology

So I have been thinking of a way to bring time travelers to us rather than us to them. I think I have a good idea I want you to comment on how you feel about this. If we created a message that could withstand a couple thousand to hundreds of thousands of years that could be read by future time travelers to come back to a specific time and place it just may work. Here is my thoughts, if we could project our reasoning they may listen. I feel that the fastest way to accelerate our race on earth is to utilize "technology bursts". For instance if we recycled a million years of technology over and over we would gain a huge stamp in our ability to compete in the galaxy. Here is how it works. Message is created - - - message is received by future time travelers ( a million years later). They bring their technology to our time and then the process repeats over and over - RECYCLING FUTURE TECHNOLOGY. Everything will seem almost instantaneous but you could imagine after recycling a million years of technology a thousand times how advanced our race would be after the process ends. The time travelers may agree to this for it would be the fastest way to better our race.

I think that works well as a concept. But the paradoxical influence would ultimately stop it... Technology's invention requires necessity. To short cut the experiences that lead to the concepts that created the technology in question would be like trying to bake brownies without eggs; it wouldn't look anything like the thing your trying to create and you'd be left feeling like you missed something. Existence takes good and bad to create something as life changing as fire, the wheel or penicillin. Sometimes we just have to face the slow road to the stars and learn as a species to cooperate without some sort of interstellar interference.

Time goes only one way. The mere a temp to reverse time is a forward action. Might work on paper, but not in our reality. Granted the concept is interesting only in the fact that time is prevalently none existent on the sub atomic scale. So on that level time could be "perceived" to have the ability of going backward. Time reversal is a dream people have, but will never really have.(I wish I'd get younger, but know the reality of a one way ticket to old Fartsville.) If a star blows up 100,000 Light years ago when WE see it it happened Now.(f-ward action) So we have to grow our expanding technology one step at a time always marching forward.

i agree. as much as i would love to go back and stop or change past events or even just witness past events, i think it is just a mathmatical coureasity. i cant get past the question of how would the time machine go back past the time it was created.the only solution i can see for reverse time travel would be to have superman fly around the earth against its normal rotational direction thus reversing the rotation and reversing time.
