    Default Dimensions and the Bible

It is interesting to me to threorize from unknown persectives on the existence of an omnipotent entity many call God. There is a verse in Hebrews that tells us Jesus Christ was an "image of God". More to that statement, Jesus was supposed to be a more perfect image of God since humans were warped by sin. Now, my point here will not be the argument of the validity of the Bible, but I'd like to draw a parallel to a thought experiment regarding dimensions.

In the first dimension, we have two singularities joined by a line. In the second, we have a branch from the line drawn to a third point. And of course, the third dimension would be a fold in the second dimension creating highth to width and length. A being from the 2-D world (think a horizontal plane for these purposes) could only view our 3-D world in 2 dimensional cross sections.

So, if I wanted to interact with the 2-D beings, I could place my hand on the surface of their 2-D world. The 2-D beings would only be able to experience the part of my hand that intersected their planar world. In other words, a hand print. How could these beings possibly understand what the rest of me looked like, acted like, or the incredible complexities of the systems of organs that allow me to function as a 3-D being, unless I chose to educate them? These 2-D beings would have absolutely no concept of a digestive system, since a digestive system would mean certain death to the 2-D being. So, what perspective could the 2-D beings have of a higher dimension even if we assume great intelligence? Likewise as 3-D beings, what can we possibly know of the complexities of higher dimension beings? What parallel is there to the 2-D beings complete inability to understand digestion to our understanding of processes of, say, 7-D beings?

It is my contention that God, if accurately characterized as everywhere at once in all times, etc., is a higher dimensional being interacting with us in 3 dimensional cross sections (hence Jesus Christ as the image of God in Hebrews). What possible chance would we have of imagining the sort of being God is or even what "existence" means in his world?

Anyway, this is the great thought I had once upon a time that I've never really asked anyone with vast knowledge of physics and math, which is due mostly to my thinking its entirely possible its just dumb. I have a decent mathematics background but probably not enough to fully answer any of these questions.

if you nhavent read them yet check out "the fourth dimension" by rudy rucker .also check out "flatland" by edwin abbott abbott.the later deals with a 2d creature, named "a square", visited by a 3d creature, named "a cube".they might help give some insights into these ideas. they def helped me.

Even if he was a multidimensional being doesnt mean that he is everywhere on the lower dimensional world. Also per string theory our world is 11 ( spacial ) d not 3d
