Default bored rant on the composition of atoms

So every nuclei is composed of protons- now it was told to me that each proton and neutron are made up of quarks (3 each) with varying spins.

(I'm going to be very plain and speak from the heart here)

Are they solid objects? If they are - what solid matter is there on that level? Does it coalesce into quarks or is that the smallest of the small?

What is it if its not solid matter? When does the macroscopic "solid appearance' of things begin to break down?

Also, I'm not sold on electrons...there is so much more there. We haven't scratched the surface of that phenomenon.

They all have mass, so they all must exist somewhere at some point. Are they all just pure energy existing in 3 dimensions?

    correction, atleast**** 3 dimensions.

But it would have to be atleast 4 dimensions under the stipulation anything that exists exists somewhere at some point*** (point in time).

    Not buying electrons, eh?

Do you mean, you don't think electrons exist? Or, that they're different somehow? How?

    Different somehow.

Their location is what bugs me. Most of the time they are around the nucleus but occasionally they are elsewhere in the universe. I've also read in a few books and websites that their spins are connected with another electron- and both of the spins aren't decided until its been viewed (like a shrodingers cat situation). And that when one electron decides which way its spinning, the other electron no matter where it is decides at that exact moment the opposite spin- even if the information from the other has to travel faster than light.

Its madness. Clearly there is more there than we know.

I think everyone agrees with that!

But, there's the experiments, and the results. How else to explain it? We don't know.

I dont know yet exactly. But I'll figure something out that suits my curiosity.

I wouldn't explain anything though, I would let the electrons explain themselves to me by their behavior. Actions speak louder than words right? So we just need to do more fun things with electrons. I forget exactly which compound it is, maybe like a Gallium-arsenic blend or something that traps electrons in small areas, where physicists refer to them as quantom dots. Thats where I would start.

All matter is made of waves.

Thats a rather broad statement. Please elaborate when you have the time

    All matter exhibits wave behavior!

The electon microscope is based on that idea.
